My youngest son is currently back out in the big wide world. He is currently doing ok. He is working on a groundwork project in the area and thoroughly enjoying himself. The only downside is that if anything happens in the area, the boys in blue are the first to call. Last week they raided the house (5 in total) and arrested him for allegdy car-jacking with attempted robbery. Thet later released him with no further action, as it turned out the gang they were looking for were 4 white males aged between 22 - 25, my son is only 15. They even managed to upset my daughter when they asked her how old she was and why at 20 she didn't have a job, with much glee she told them she was on her summer break from uni and to put it nicely 'mind your own business'

A lot things have happened since then, to me and my family. Son is still away, having being out for two weeks, he had his licence revoked and has now gone back for a month.
Anyway enough for now, it least its a start.

(or is it just me).
Just can't seem to get in the mood, probably cause No 2 son <img src="/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif" alt=":>" class="middle" border="0"> is away this year however as I have two other siblings then everything will be normal.

Currently listening to - UK Subs, Early Rod Stewart and The Faces, James

Currently watching - My items on e-bay selling, trying to raise extra cash for Chrimbo.

Found it hard to motivate myself recently to do anything, I think the last two years finally caught up with me. Actually broke down and cried at work when I was asked how I was. Anyway my youngest <img src="/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif" alt=":>" class="middle" border="0"> is now away at her majesty's pleasure until May 2007, it became longer after his decision to come clean with the police in regards to everything he has done. This was a brave move as he was due to be released at the end of November. He will not be home for Christmas / Winterville, which will be hard for all of us. He is currently back on line with his GCSE's and is extremely good at table tennis and pool.
Last week was my eldest sons 18th. We went out for a few meals and had a small family party (minus one<img src="/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif" alt=":>" class="middle" border="0">). The obligatory embarassing photo's were put out and a good time was had by all.

Just a thank you to the bloggers who've kept me on their list of friends (during my quiet time) and to those who have removed me, maybe we'll become friends again.

Watching - The Soprano's, Brotherhood, Manchester United Football Club.

Seen - The Departed, The Prestige.

Listening - The Charlatans, Depeche Mode, The Specials.

Enjoy Yourself, its later than you think.

What's new ?
My youngest is currently away doing six months at Her Majesty's pleasure, this time in a proper prison, so hopefully he will learn his lesson the hard way. My daughter has returned to uni and my eldest son did a u-turn at the last minute and did'nt join the armed forces (much to the relief of his mother) and decided a career in catering was better. The threat of redundencies looms large at work but life goes on.

Currently conducting interviews at work and feeling sorry for most of them as most of them have been out of work due to age. These are once proud guys who are desperate for work.

Been to visit my son today, he only has 2 weeks left, he does seem to have changed but the real test will be when he is on ISSP for eight weeks. One slip up and he goes straight back in. If he can manage that for eight weeks he is finished with everything, a clean start. During his stay he has got back on top with his school work etc and basicaly kept his head down and got on with it. We had a bit of a scare yesterday when he was rushed into hosptal due to him vomitting blood, (only a kidney infection luckily) the only disappointing thing was that he was taken handcuffed to two meatheads into a busy casualty department in Manchester for everyone to look and gawp. Surely no need for the cuffs he is only 14.

Currently enjoying the quiet life and listening to Feeder.

I was warned that he would go through this. Healthwise he is fine but they are concerned that he has lost weight since he first went in, he is eating more than he has ever done so it is probably down to the fact that he is going to the gym everyday.
Going to visit him on Saturday providing I can get a visiting order. He still doesn't want his mum to visit him which is making it hard for my wife because he is still the baby of the bunch.
With him being away though we are getting our lifes back, we are able to go out when and whenever we want to. So wrightly or wrongly we are making the most of it.

I must admit he looks very well. He is getting fed, educated, kept busy and the main thing is I know where he is. He arrived there on Wednesday night and has already had a small run in wih one of the others, verbal rather than physical. He asked for some paper to write a letter home and the other boy taunted him about the letter being for his boyfriend, so my son told him that he was writing to the boys mother as they had been lovers for some time. Bad move.

A few facts - We imprison juveniles at four times the rate in France and one hundred times that of Finland. Other countries seem to manage without locking children up in such large numbers and at least try to address the underlying causes.

Between April 1999 and December 2004, 52 per cent of ASBOs were given to adults.

I think I think I will start my own Saturday afternoon cinema club with the three pensioners I met this afternoon.

As he is doing well at the moment they have adjourned until the 8th May when it will be reviewed again. He is currently hyper as his curfew ends today and he is awaiting eagerly the removal of his tag. The TV cameras were at the court and the security was tight as the boy who mudered a younger boy(RIP) was attending for comittal. A sad,sad case.

Anyway XFM is coming to Manchester on Wednesday and they are currently doing test transmissions. This means they are playing excellent song after song (ideal for taping) without the constant interruptions of DJ's and adverts. Heaven, why can't it always be like this.

Currently listening to over and over again :- Juicebox - The Strokes,
Out Of Many - Audioweb, The Test Transmission Tapes - XFM

Come in. Sit down.
Me: Care if I talk? I'm kind of nervous when I take tests.
YOT: Uh, just please don't move.
Me: Oh, sorry. I already had an IQ test this year, I don't think I've ever had one of these-
YOT: Reaction time is a factor in this, so please pay attention. Now, answer as quickly as you can.
Me: Sure.
Yot: One-one-eight-seven at Unterwasser.
Me: That's the hotel.
YOT: What?
Me: Where I live.
YOT: Nice place?
Me: Yeah, sure I guess-- that part of the test?
YOT: No, just warming you up, that's all.
Me: Oh. It's not fancy or anything.
YOT: You're in a desert, walking along in the sand when all of the sudden-
Me: Is this the test now?
YOT: Yes. You're in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down-
Me: What one?
YOT: What?
Me: What desert?
YOT: It doesn't make any difference what desert, it's completely hypothetical.
Me: But how come I'd be there?
YOT: Maybe you're fed up, maybe you want to be by yourself, who knows? You look down and you see a tortoise, Leon, it's crawling towards you-
Me: Tortoise, what's that?
YOT: Know what a turtle is?
Me: Of course.
YOT: Same thing.
Me: I've never seen a turtle -- But I understand what you mean.
YOT: You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back Bobski.
Me: Do you make up these questions, Mr. Holden, or do they write them down for you?
YOT: The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun beating its legs trying to turn itself over but it can't, not without your help, but you're not helping.
Me: What do you mean I'm not helping?
YOT: I mean, you're not helping. Why is that Bobski? - They're just questions, Bobski. In answer to your query, they're written down for me. It's a test, designed to provoke an emotional response. -- Shall we continue? Describe in single words, only the good things that come in to your mind about... your mother.
Me: My mother?
YOT: Yeah.
Me: Let me tell you about my mother...

Or was that Blade Runner ?

I get the verdict next week, no use worrying.

Come in.
Me: Sure.
They are compiling a report for our 'lovely local magistrates' to decide whether I should be the subject of a parenting order. This will mean I will have to attend counselling or guidance sessions and ensure conditions imosped are met. These conditions could be that I have to ensure that my son doesn't visit a particular place unsupervised and ensuring that he is at home at particular times. The latter ties in with his curfew order, which finishes on Monday, were he has been late on occasions. I am not sure how we could meet these conditions, as I currently go looking for him as it gets near his curfew. One option is to quit my job, claim as many benefits as possible and supervise him for 24hrs. We will have to see. Why don't they spend more time trying to catch some real criminals.

Currently Listening to - Policeman Skank - Audioweb, I Fought The Law - The Clash, Caught by the Fuzz - Supergrass .(joke)

Listening to - Highway Star - Deep Purple, Rocks - Primal Scream, Release The Bats - The Birthday Party, Siouxsie and the Banshees and many more.

Watching - Rescue Me.
